This spring, Northern Arizona University students traveled from Rome through Molise on an eight-night Economics of Gastronomy program, following food from land and sea to artisan producers, manufacturers, restaurants, and the table.

Each September, Riccia celebrates the harvest with one of Molise’s most colorful traditions: the Festa dell’Uva. At the heart of the festival are elaborate carri dell’uva—floats painstakingly decorated with grapes, vines, and other natural materials—which parade through town alongside traditional costumes, folk music, food, and plenty of wine.
