This spring, Northern Arizona University students traveled from Rome through Molise on an eight-night Economics of Gastronomy program, following food from land and sea to artisan producers, manufacturers, restaurants, and the table.
What if your study abroad also became your resume? Molise Italian Studies’ Summer Internship + combines a six-week international internship with a three-credit Intercultural Citizenship course, allowing students to earn seven academic credits while living with host families, building professional experience, and developing the global skills employers increasingly value.
This past month, Termoli became one of many classrooms without walls, as Northern Arizona University Social Work students spent nearly three weeks engaging with organizations across Rome, Molise, and Puglia, exploring issues ranging from gender-based violence and homelessness to disability inclusion, animal-assisted therapy, dementia care, and food security. Alongside extraordinary partners, students experienced social work not as theory, but as lived community practice.
This month, Colli a Volturno also becomes a classroom without walls as we welcome a cohort of students from Northern Arizona University’s Honors College as part of the Global Citizens Project Scholars program, an immersive faculty-led experience designed to connect academic learning with lived global engagement.
